Event Sales Supervisor
SUMMARY
The Sales & Events Supervisor is responsible for generating earned revenue for the museum through the promotion, sales, and supervision of the museum facilities for private events. The Sales & Events Supervisor is responsible for assisting in meeting or exceeding the annual Museum Rentals sales goals. The position requires close teamwork within the Museum Rentals team, as well as self-direction and motivation, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and some basic accounting skills. The position reports to the Sales & Business Development Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Sales & Marketing
- Drive sales to execute annual Museum Rentals Sales Plan
- Meet and exceed revenue & service goals
- Respond in a timely manner to a high volume of inquiries by phone and email (with a focus on social event clients)
- Provide excellent customer service to clients and prospects
- Manage sales prospecting Salesforce database of event professionals, and produce monthly, bi-monthly and/or quarterly mailings as appropriate
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date inquiry and event information in Salesforce
- Maintain accuracy of multiple calendars
- Conduct outside sales presentations
- Initiate outreach through sales emails and phone calls, including engaging potential clients to build new business relationships
- Lead virtual and on-site inspections and host FAM tours
- Initiate contracts, negotiate with clients, and cultivate positive working relationships with clients and vendors
- Review contract redlines and insurance specifications
- Develop rental sales collateral and obtain and create social media content in collaboration with the Sales & Business Development Manager and Marketing team
- Help drive sales by participating in trade shows and other professional organization events (MPI, NACE, etc.)
Supervision & Accounting
- Assign & supervise on-call event staff at events
- Assess needs to determine suitable facility services
- Generate monthly sales reports
- Generate invoices and track and process payments
- Cultivate positive working relationships with key museum operating staff
- Assist with special projects as assigned
- Perform additional duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS and two years of event management experience or professional equivalent including managerial experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Salesforce, and Google Suite
- Demonstrated experience in staff assignment and supervision
- Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism, diplomacy, and courtesy in all interactions, with a successful track record in sales and customer service
- Strong organizational and communication skills (presentation, written, and verbal)
- Experience with financial reconciliation and payment processing
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and ensure accuracy, while meeting multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with a high-level of self-motivation and initiative while also being a team player

HOW TO APPLY
